Middle School Announcement for 4/15/10 HMS SPORTS REPORTS & NEWS
The Hauppauge Eagles Wrestling team capped off a very impressive season with two late season victories over Commack Gold and East Northport. The Eagles dominated both teams with a 61-15 win over Commack Gold and a 56-18 win over East Nortport. These two wins propelled the Eagles into the record books giving them a true undefeated season at 10 wins an 0 losses.
Eight wrestlers achieved undefeated status throughout the year: Ralph Cazzetta, Austin Munro, Ryan Henry, Tyler Greene, Billy Kopsky, Luis Velazco, Mason Ezring, Ricky Panciroli, and Dominic Holder all competed in at least 5 matches and posted all wins.
As a team, the Eagles compiled over 190 wins and 80 pins throughout the season, with the fastest pin going to Ricky Panciroli, with a 13 second pin against his Commack opponent.
Coach Messina and Coach Orioles weres both tremendously proud of the wrestlers as throughout the year they demonstrated the ability to improve, the desire to win and the capacity to work extremely hard to achieve a fantastic goal.
The future is bright for this group of wrestlers. Good luck to all eighth graders who will be stepping up to the JV or Varsity next year. You will be missed but Coach Messina, Coach Goodfellow, and Coach Lichter are all very excited to have you guys coming up to fill up their line up.
